Boys Basketball Highlights November 11-15

The PSMS Boys Basketball teams had three home games this week. Highlights of the games below:

Tuesday: Last night the Port Susan Knights 7th Grade JV team played an exciting game against the Cascade Kodiaks. The Knights made a great comeback but just fell short at the end losing by a score of 19-24. The Honor of the game bracelet goes to Corbin for his awesome attitude and always being a great teammate. Nice job Knights! The 8th grade JV boys basketball team played a spirited game against Cascade last night, falling short by 1 point, 36-35.  Tenacious defense was turned in by Asher and Myles.  Ryan led the team in rebounds and the honor player of the game goes to Hans, for clutch shooting and a big 3 late in the game. The 7th grade Varsity boys played an outstanding game last night against Cascade. Unfortunately they came up 1 score short with a 42-44 loss. The game was back and forth from the jump and came down to the final second on the clock. This was the teams best game yet and they have shown great improvement, playing great team ball. Player of the game goes to to Kieran for his great team leadership and his never ending effort. Great job Knights. The 8th grade boys basketball team won a tough battle against Cascade Middle School.  The boys played hard and fought through some adversity to get the win.  Great job!
 
Wednesday: Last night the 7th Grade Boys JV basketball team lost to the North Whidbey Falcons by a score of 27-44. The Knights worked hard but couldn't quite keep up against the strong Falcon team. The honor of the game bracelet goes to Sawyer for his great attitude and hard work. Nice job guys! After trailing by 8 at half, the 8th grade JV boys basketball team stormed back with a dramatic turnaround and a convincing victory over North Whidbey yesterday.  Balanced scoring from Myles, Ryan, and tremendous defense by Lucas and Carter led the charge.  Honor player of the game goes to Wyatt, who hit two clutch three pointers late in the fourth quarter to help seal the victory for Port Susan. The 8th grade varsity boys basketball team won a tough battle against North Whidbey Middle School last night.  It was close at half, but they used tough defense to pull away in the 2nd half.  Great job boys.  Another tough game today against Anacortes.  Let's get it done!

 Thursday: Last night the Port Susan Knights 7th Grade JV team lost another close one to the Anacortes Hawks by a score of 44-47. The Knights made a great comeback in the 4th quarter but just came up short at the end. The honor of the game bracelet goes to Quinn for his positive attitude and hard work. Port Susan 8th grade boys JV basketball came from behind again in the 2nd half to impose their will and defeat Anacortes 37-29.  Myles led the team in scoring with 11 pts.  Quentin and Lucas provided a boost in the 2nd half with great defense.  Honor player of the game goes to Easton B who kept us in the game late in the first half with a key bucket and provided an offensive push in the 2nd half helping us gain the lead. The 7th Grade Varsity Boys lost to Anacortes last night. They played hard and never gave up, but fell short of the win. They had lots of positive takeaways from the game and continue to improve each night. Player of the game goes to Ryan. Ryan had a great game, played great defense and gave an outstanding effort getting rebounds for the team. After 3 straight games the boys will have a break and then take on Stanwood Middle next Tuesday. Nice job Knights!  The 8th grade varsity boys basketball team lost a tough battle against Anacortes last night.  The boys played hard and it was a very close game, but in the end they fell short.  Great effort boys.  Keep up the hard work.
